I’m not on any of my roommates’ renters insurance policies, will I be covered if something happened?

I lived with three roommates in an apartment for a year. We had a theft in the building yesterday and some of our stuff was stolen. I’m not on any of my roommates’ renters insurance policies, will I be covered under this circumstance?

No, you are not eligible for your roommate’s insurance policy if your name is not listed. You need to buy your own policy or ask your roommate to add your name on their renters insurance policy for you to be covered.
